
SLC3 Annual Awards Gala
Nominations are open for the 2023 Annual Awards Gala. All submissions are due July 10, 2023 at Noon. In addition to honoring our Construction Industry Best Practices, we host our yearly Inclusion Awards as well. Details are below for the CII BP Awards and the Inclusion Awards. We are also taking nominees for: Company/Organization Impact in Construction Award, Most Notable Architecture/Engineering or Consulting Firm of the Year, Emerging Leader Award, Community Steward Award, Technology Advancement Award and Safety Leader of the Year Award. As usual we will also honor a Volunteer of the Year and Ambassador of the Year Award.
CII BEST PRACTICES
INSTRUCTIONS: There are (17) CII Best Practices. This form is to be used for your submittal. You may submit up to two Best Practices for each project by checking the appropriate boxes.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS/CRITERIA
There are (17) CII Best Practices. SLC3 Best Practice Submission Form 2023 This form MUST be used for your submittal. Choose up to (2) maximum Best Practices by checking the appropriate boxes below. There is a space below the questions of each Best Practice to provide your response. *Project must be completed in the last 1.5 years.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Delete non-relevant best practices from your response.
- Rename this form using your Company Name and 2023 BP Awards.
- Complete all information requested. It is important to provide your key team’s information and role who served on the project and outside your company.
- Add any additional information to your PDF.
- Include one high quality image of your project at minimum. It must be at least 1500 pixels and 300 dpi.
- Upload PDF response and image(s) HERE.

INCLUSION AWARDS
These awards recognize the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the design and construction industry. Awards are presented for:
- Inclusion Champion (Form)
- Minority / Woman / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (Form)
- Organizational Excellence for Inclusion (Form)
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS/CRITERIA
Each Award has a separate form to use for form for your submittal. It does not matter if you nominate yourself or someone else however all criteria should be acknowledged. Previous nominees and winners are eligible to be considered again.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Use form for each award for your submission. The information requested must be completed.
- Rename the form before uploading with name of award and company/person nominated.
- Upload logo for companies and a high res photo for individuals.
- Add any additional information to your PDF.
- Upload PDF response and image(s) to One Drive.
Winners will be announced at the Gala.
Criteria:
Your nominee could be a project manager, office staff, client, customer or other colleague who has made a significant contribution or effort to promote inclusion . . . perhaps a new idea, activity or program that promotes greater use of women or minorities on a project or enhances the use of women or minority owned firms. (You may nominate yourself or another person.)
Provide a summary of the nominee’s contributions or efforts (e.g. 1 page). How has the person promoted inclusion? What programs has the person supported and by what means (e.g. financially, personally …)?
Explain ways the person encourages inclusive participation. Provide metrics:
- Outreach
- Work force development
- Mentoring
- Retention
- Project with quantified results. What were they?
- Why should this person be selected?
Minority/Woman/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
Criteria:
Nominate a Minority, Woman or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firm or supplier for excellence based on their understanding and efforts to apply one of the construction industry best practices. Currently 17 Best Practices validated by the Construction Industry Institute (CII)are:

Organizational Excellence for Inclusion
Criteria:
Complete the nomination form to nominate a corporation, organization or other institution. Include responses on a separate page. You may supplement your nominations with photos, graphs and testimonials, but please attach no more that two (2) additional pages. You may nominate your own organization or another organization.
How has the organization promoted inclusion? What programs has the organization supported and by what means (e.g. financially, mentoring, other resources …)? Explain other ways the firm encourages inclusive participation. Provide metrics:
- Outreach
- Work force development
- Mentoring
- Retention
- Project with quantified results. What were they?

Emerging Leader Award $1,000 (Exclusive) + Criteria
This award is for an individual exhibiting what it means to promote the attributes of a young leader in our industry. Must be 45 and younger to be nominated. Nominee must have three years in the AEC industry to be considered. The candidate should have demonstrated accounts of leadership in his career as well as commitment to his trade/profession and community. We will share a 30 second video about your company and you congratulating this winner. *Video must be prepared by the sponsor.
Safety Leader of the Year Award $1,000 (Exclusive) + Criteria
This award is for an organization or company (owner or associate) exhibiting outstanding safety practices in the AEC industry. The Safety Leader must demonstrate significant safety programs and demonstrate excellent safety record. Community Steward of the Year Award $1,000 (Exclusive) + Criteria
