In conjunction with the opening of  the Northside Economic Empowerment Center (NEEC), the Minority & Small Business Empowerment team at St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) launched its Back Office Support System (BOSS) Portal — a streamlined, tech-enabled system designed to build a community of small businesses throughout the City of St. Louis, especially North City.

Business owners can access the BOSS Portal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online and through a mobile app.

The BOSS Portal is a customizable online platform that integrates all the tools, knowledge and support entrepreneurs need to start and grow a business in one dedicated place. The BOSS Portal will serve as the online hub to network with local resources, enable inclusive outreach, track small business growth and measure economic impact.

“Launching the BOSS Portal is giant step in building a local ecosystem for entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said Stacey Fowler, SVP of Minority & Small Business Empowerment at SLDC. “This is an innovative way for SLDC to advance its entrepreneurship-led economic development goals, as outlined in the Economic Justice Action Plan, while providing a place where Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE/MBE) can receive real-world business services.”

Receive in-person training and support at the NEEC located in the Annex on the Eastern Side of the Sumner High School Campus at 4248 Cottage Ave., St. Louis, MO 63113. Street parking is available on Cottage Ave., Northeast of the facility – follow the signs to enter the building.
