Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the Ultimate Sport for the Mind. Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get.

At the FRC Regionals, 44 teams from across the country will compete for the opportunity to advance to the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

SAFETY MANAGER and SAFETY ATTENDANTS – The Safety Manager for FIRST Robotics Competition is a key volunteer position. This role is shared between two volunteers and these individuals will work with the Safety Attendants to increase the awareness of safety. Volunteers in this role will work with teams to ensure they understand, comply with, and practice the fundamentals of safety to ensure the safety of all FIRST event participants. The FIRST Safety program nurtures a positive reinforcement model that emphasizes safe behavior and coaching to correct unsafe behavior. The goal is to have a safe event and to promote safety as a holistic life skill.
