Summary

This position reports directly to the Executive Director in carrying out day-to-day operations of the Council.  We are seeking an outgoing and dynamic person who enjoys working with people and  loves to work on a variety of marketing tasks, supporting members and assisting with events. We do have a fast paced work environment but we also provide the right candidate with a wide variety of projects and tasks, great work environment, fun events, and plenty of opportunity to grow as well.

Marketing tasks include a variety of marketing communications functions included but not limited to: event promotion, social media marketing, producing flyers, coordinating and producing newsletters, setting up e-campaigns, developing marketing materials, and assisting with marketing planning. This role offers the ability to work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment where interpersonal skills and communication skills are imperative and growth potential is available. In addition to the marketing tasks which mainly support our many events, we need membership support. The Executive Director and the Membership Committee are responsible for membership growth, retention and overall public relations of the organization.  This role will help with onboarding new members, managing member information and overall support to membership.

Primary Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  • Marketing
    • Assists with the development and execution of marketing communication tools using WordPress, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, Canva and Constant Contact
    • Develops social media content and manages posts on social media
    • Works with printer as needed for event signage
    • Develops marketing materials including event flyers
    • Manages website content updates
    • Coordinates and Develops Newsletters and Blogs
    • Produces PowerPoint Presentations
    • Manages all Council Databases
    • Implements Strategic Marketing Plan
    • Oversees Website Updates and Website Contractor & Prepares Analytics
  • Events/Program Support
    • Supports the Event Coordinator with events (preparation and day of tasks)
    • Administers program evaluation surveys
    • Helps to manage volunteer tasks at events
    • Works with Event Coordinator to create themes and ideas for events and helps with procuring event supplies and decorations.
    • Coordinates materials from speakers for events
    • Supports several large special events per year (Golf, Awards, Clay Shoot, Workshop)
    • Produces event flyers, updates website and executes event promotion
  • Membership
    • Processes new member applications and updates all Council information
    • Discusses membership with potential member and organizes meetings and calls for Executive Director for memberships
    • Assists Members with requests
    • Participates in Membership Committee Meetings
    • Produces Minutes and Agenda for Membership Committee 

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor Degree required (Prefer: Communications, Media, Marketing Comm, PR, Design)
  • At least one year experience in similar capacity
  • Communicates clearly both orally and in writing
  • Outstanding customer service skills REQUIRED
  • Ability to think on your feet
  • Positive attitude is essential
  • Professionalism and professional attire required for events
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Thrives working in fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, attends to details and produces high quality work

  • Appreciation of architecture, engineering and construction is desired

Office Equipment/Software

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Working Knowledge of Canva a plus
  • Adobe Suite knowledge required. (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • WordPress Knowledge preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 30lbs, sit for more than 5 hours a day, or stand more than 4 hours as needed
  • Must be flexible with work hours (some evenings and early mornings are required)

Salary: $38K-$50K per experience 

HOURS: Monday-Thursday 7:00 to 4:30 p.m.  and Friday 7-11 a.m.
