Day 4: Jobsite Culture
Construction environments already present physical safety challenges. An additional layer of concern is presented in the form of prevalent racism and sexism which contribute to hostile work environments. We all have a responsibility to cultivate respectful workplaces that are free from hate, racism, sexism, discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Our jobsites should not only offer mechanisms and best practices to ensure physical safety, but rather holistic safety incorporating procedures and requiring protocols to promote respect and dignity to each worker.
