Sara Hannah joins Guarantee Electrical Leadership as Inaugural Chief People Officer, will Lead Strategic Talent and Culture Initiatives

St. Louis, MO – Guarantee Electrical Company (GECO), a 100% employee-owned organization, today announced the appointment of Sara Hannah as its first-ever Chief People Officer. In this senior leadership role, Hannah will spearhead GECO’s comprehensive people strategy and talent development initiatives while strengthening the company’s distinctive employee-ownership culture.

Hannah brings more than two decades of experience in developing people-centric organizational cultures and transformative leadership programs. She will oversee all aspects of GECO’s human capital management, including talent acquisition, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

“Guarantee is on the move.  Our 123-year legacy plus our People-First and Purpose-Driven culture will win with a leader like Sara guiding our people strategy,” said Rich Ledbetter, CEO of Guarantee Electrical. “She is the most impactful partner we’ve experienced in building high-performance cultures. Her deep commitment to human-centered leadership aligns perfectly with our values. Sara’s appointment reflects our dedication to investing in our greatest asset—our employee-owners—and positions us to further strengthen our distinctive culture while driving operational excellence.”

Hannah joins GECO after nearly two decades in leadership development and organizational culture transformation. Most recently, she founded and served as Managing Partner of Chapman & Co. Leadership Institute, an external consulting division of Barry-Wehmiller. Under her guidance, the organization helped clients across diverse industries align their business strategies with people-centered approaches. Her client portfolio included Fortune 50 corporations, professional sports teams, and non-profit organizations both in St. Louis and globally.

Prior to establishing Chapman & Co., Hannah was instrumental in developing Barry-Wehmiller’s internal culture, where she led the creation of Barry-Wehmiller University. This initiative established comprehensive development pathways for leaders across the organization, supporting both individual growth and business performance.

“I’m thrilled to join an organization that genuinely values its people and recognizes the connection between employee engagement and a thriving business,” said Hannah. “As an employee-owned company, GECO has a unique opportunity to create an exceptional workplace where team members can thrive personally and professionally. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and implementing strategies that will continue to make GECO an employer of choice in the industry.”

A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Hannah was recognized by the St. Louis Business Journal as one of St. Louis’ Most Influential Businesswomen in 2017. She remains actively engaged in the community through her board service with Mercy Hospital, the United Way, The Magic House, and the Chapman Foundation for Caring Communities.
